Modern cities are places of life, work and commerce as well as places of education, culture and regeneration. More than half of the world population lives in cities, approximately 30 percent of the people of the global south live in slums. Urbanization, lack of fresh water and pollution are only some oft he risks that endanger our environment, health and well-being.
SDG 11 focuses on creating inclusive, safe, resilient und sustainable cities for people of every age. Therefore sustainable cities are a key issue of the agenda 2030.
The participation of communities is central to implement sustainable cities. What are your own ideas for creating a green city? How can cities be inclusive and sustainable? How can citizens be motivated to create a sustainable environment themselves and thereby increase their own quality of living? What can each of us implement in our daily routines? We will adopt an international and intercultural perspective on the subject and share our experiences.
central themes:
- SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
